~~~Dreaming of The Tropics Table~~~
With VERY low temperatures and biting winds outside I am dreaming of warmer climates and tropical breezes!!! So, I have set a table to transport us there!!!
 I kept the green tablecloth on the table and added the rattan place mats for added texture and they remind me of thatched huts:) I also am using a stack of plates which include a set that I got many years ago that have palm trees on them and palm foliage on the dinner plate.
 I put 2 napkins together and corralled them with a simple green and white ring.
 My clear bubble glasses remind me of sparkling waters.
 The leaf bowl resembles the foliage on the plates
 The salad plates have 4 different plam trees on them
 This white raised edge plate is one of my favorites and I wish I could find more of them. WALMART sold them several years ago so if any of you know a source PLEASE let me know!!!
 And this is the dinner plate.
 Of course I am using my palm tree flatware.
 The S and P have a  rattan covering too.
 I placed two matching rattan based candle holders on each side of the Terrarium centerpiece.
 I am LOVING the hutch that Joe made in here!!!!! I can't believe it took me over a year to put it here! What was I thinking?????
 I love being able to sit at the table and see out back and I can even see the clubhouse.
Thanks so much for stopping by. Please let me know you were here with a comment, they make my day! XO, Pinky
~~~Some Changes are Going On~~~

Good Morning! I have been "under the weather" this week but still trying to keep moving. I decided that I wanted to move the bakers rack out of the breakfast room and replace it with the hutch that Joe had made me for the old house. I LOOOOVE the change!!! It FEELS much better now. This is what it looked like with the bakers rack last week.

 TA DA!!! Here is the hutch in place now! I am SO glad I decided to do this, I feel it is a much better fit. I like the wood of the hutch with the wood of the table and chairs.
 I did a total restyling of it too.
 I gathered the 3 "faux" (wish they were real), demijohns that I LOVE, and some other favorite pieces to dress the hutch.

 I found this bird at Home Goods the other day and knew it would be perfect here.
 This candle holder was a gift from our dear Yvonne when we moved in. I know you are all praying for her to recover from her latest surgery!!! I see my amaryllis is on it's last legs:):) I better get that out of here:):)
 In the winter when it is COLD and BLUSTERY I dream of being somewhere warm and tropical so surround myself with a collection of palm tree accessories. You'll see more of these when I show you the rest of the kitchen and my new table setting.

 I haven't decided what to put into the iron basket on the top of the hutch.

 The sun is shining brightly this morning but don't let that fool you, it is 12 degrees right now, up from 7 when these were taken:):) Thanks so much for stopping by. I am trying to resolve the fact that noone is getting their e-mail notifications from me when I do a post. I realized it when I wasn't getting them. If anyone out there can tell me how to fix this I would appreciate that. Have a beautiful day and stay warm my friends!!!! XO, Pinky

~~~A Winter White Tablesetting~~~
The other day when I redid the morning/breakfast room I decided I should set a new table for us too. I decided to do a "Winter White" table since we have 11 inches of snow outside! But in keeping with all the greens in the room added touches of green too. Hope you like it! I chose dishes that all had lots of texture and pattern. These are not a set, they all came from different places but I love them all together.
 A twiggy ball sits on a tiny green wreath
 on the side of the terrarium.
 I just realized that the pattern of the tablecloth has changed in the pictures! I have no idea how this happened!!!??? As you can see in the other pictures the tablecloth is a tiny striped pattern.
 A simple green goblet, made from recycled glass is for our beverages and the S and P add some more texture.
 Inside the terrarium I placed a pottery basket shaped pot with a faux succulent, a green lantern and a green sphere.
 They all rest on a bed of green moss.
 I changed out the red cushions that were used at Christmas for these green patterned ones.
 A nice thick napkin is folded simply.
 I love this crackled bird that I found at Kirklands recently. There are LOTS of birds at the feeders right outside the windows.
 I have had this pottery piece for MANY years and it remains a favorite.
 At first, I used my white handled flatware but then remembered this palm tree flatware and like it better!
 We eat alot of soups and chili in these COLD winter months so I placed the soup spoon across the bowl.
 My square rattan charger acts as a placemat and adds even more texture.
Thanks for your visit. I so appreciate all my sweet followers. XO, Pinky
~~~Letting the House Take a Deep Breath!!!~~~

Hello my friends! I have been VERY busy since returning from Fl. on Sat. night taking Christmas down.....finally!!! Joe didn't want me to do it before I left so I came home to all of it. Plus he hurt his backl so I have been carrying all the bins up the stairs and then back down after packing them. Let me tell you going up and down the steps about a bazillion times is GREAT exercise for your butt:):):) So, I wanted to share the morning room as that is where I start. The tree was in here so I am showing you how I put it away and then the morning room dressed down for Winter. Here is a good tip for you. I keep the very top section of the tree decorated and next year I just have to fluff the bows and the berries and sticks and it's good to go!!!
 I also fold the tree skirt and tulle and place it in the box too.
 There you go, all closed up and ready to store til next year!
 Now here are the "bare bones" of the room all cleaned and vacummed.
 I have set a "Winter White" table with touches of greens that I will share tomorrow.
 I have chosen to concentrate on a soothing green color palette for Winter. I feel it is very calming. Today the sun is shing BRIGHTLY after we got 11 inches of snow yesterday!!!
 The plants and plant shelf were in the master bedroom for Christmas and have been brought back out here.

 I have had this large fish basket for MANY years. It holds large pieces of bamboo.

 I have had this bakers rack in here since we moved in but am going to make a change. I have decided I want to put the hutch that Joe made me in here. I think it will be a better fit for the room.

 I love the 2 faux topiaries that I found in the Fall at Tuesday Morning. The green, pagoda shaped lantern holds a candle on a timer. It gives off a beautiful, soft glow in the evening.

Thanks so much for your visit. Now that I am home and getting organized I will be able to blog again!! I hope you are all staying warm: it was 3 degrees when I got up with wind chills between minus 15-20!!! BRRRRR.  XO, Pinky
